A majority of people with visual impairment has some vision; however, the challenge for us is to identify ways to enable people with low vision to benefit from the remaining vision through the provision of appropriate services, materials and low vision devices. One of the major restraints for this is the unavailability or high cost of low vision devices. To overcome this problem, we have developed an effective and broader range of low vision devices using low cost and easily available local materials. This video demonstrates how to make these low vision devices i.e. stand magnifier, illuminated T magnifier, handheld magnifier, applanatic spectacle magnifier, fix focus telescope, adjustable focus telescope, spherical lenses. The video also elucidates the requirements for setting up facilities to produce low vision devices.
