Guidance is provided on the personnel, equipment and supplies needed for setting up a district eye care programme. Section 1 deals with the base/district unit where there are fully qualified ophthalmic personnel. Section 2 addresses the equipment and consumables required by general medical personnel who have some training in eye care. Section 3 addresses the needs at primary (community) level. Section 4 covers budget estimation. Section 5 covers stock management.
