Members of TEAR Fund have wide experience of conflict in many developing countries and this book is based on their experience of peace-making with affected communities. The aim is to show organisations how situations are developing which could cause conflict and how to act to avoid them; and when there is conflict to set up peace –building initiatives. If an organisation has seen opportunities to encourage peace and reconciliation, but is unsure how to get involved, the book will show them how to go about it. Among the case studies based on TEAR fund experiences are the Forthspring project in Northern Ireland aimed at breaking down barriers between Catholics and Protestants; healing workshops in Rwanda, camps for young people of all races in South Africa and sorting out ethnic divisions in Northern India.
