The Child-to-Child Primary Health Readers have been developed to teach and encourage primary school children in Africa to become concerned with the health and general development of their pre-school brothers and sisters and other children in the community. This Reader is at a higher language level and is aimed at 12-14 year-olds. It considers the pressures which adolescents living in town face when they enter adulthood. It tells the story of 13-year-old Sampson, being lead by an older teenager, Innocent (who is not), into the deadly habits of smoking, drinking, and casual sex. Sampson is saved from these dangers by Joe, his younger, but more level-headed brother.
