This handbook is No. 8 in the CALLED TO CARE toolkit and focuses on knowledge and life skills for young people aged 10-15, with special emphasis on reproductive health within the total process of growing up. It takes a participatory approach to teaching and learning, using role play, case studies, games, stories, quizzes, Bible study and artwork to promote discussion and explore critical life skills for young people. It also includes sessions for parents and guardians. Illustrations are by the Namibian artist, Marika Matengu, and the Zambian artist, Danny Chiyesu. Note: The CALLED TO CARE toolkit consists of practical, action-oriented workbooks on various aspects of HIV and AIDS, designed mainly for use with churches and community groups in sub-Saharan Africa but applicable elsewhere as well.
